I2C Ozone Sensor (0-10ppm) (Gas Sensor)

I2C Ozone Sensor (0-10ppm) is based on electrochemical principles and it can measure the ambient O3 concentration accurately and conveniently. With high anti-interference ability, high stability, and high sensitivity, this Arduino-compatible ozone sensor can be widely applied to fields like portable devices, air quality monitoring devices, disinfection cabinets, and smart homes.

This compact ozone sensor supports I2C output, it is compatible with many mainboards like Arduino Uno, esp32, Raspberry Pi, and so on. Its resolution can reach 10ppb. It supports a wide range of input voltage: 3.3V to 5.5V. Moreover, the lifetime is as long as 2 years. With a simple Gravity interface and practical sample code, you can build your own ozone concentration monitor easily and conveniently.

Precaution:

  1. Do not plug or unplug sensors on the module.
  2. It is forbidden to change or shift the installation state of electronic components. The module avoids contact with organic solvents (including silicone and other adhesives), coatings, pharmaceuticals, oils and high concentrations of gases.
  3. The module cannot be completely encapsulated with resin material, and it cannot be immersed in an oxygen-free environment, otherwise the performance of the sensor will be damaged.
  4. The module cannot be used in an environment containing corrosive gas for a long time. Corrosive gas will damage the sensor.
  5. The module must not be subjected to excessive shock or vibration.
  6. The module needs to be warmed up for about 24-48 hours after it is powered on for the first time. After the module is fully stable, it will be tested normally.
  7. The white waterproof and breathable membrane of the sensor on the module is strictly forbidden to open, otherwise it is regarded as artificial damage.
  8. Do not install the module in a strong convection air environment.
  9. Do not place the module in high-concentration organic gas for a long time. Long-term storage will cause the sensor zero point to drift and recover slowly.

By knowing the exact concentration of CO2(Carbon Dioxide), we can do something to reduce the CO2 and to protect our Earth. Here is the Arduino-based CO2 sensor designed by DFRobot’s lovely engineer. This is the first CO2 sensor in the Arduino market.  The output voltage of the module falls as the concentration of CO2 increases. The potentiometer onboard is designed to set the threshold of voltage. As long as the CO2 concentration is high enough (the voltage is lower than the threshold),  a digital signal (ON/OFF) will be released.

It has an MG-811 sensor module which is highly sensitive to CO2 and less sensitive to alcohol and CO, low humidity & temperature dependency.  The onboard heating circuit brings the best temperature for the sensor to function. IR Infrared Transmitter Sensor Module
This Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module is an inexpensive solution to avoidance detection for robotics and other electronics uses. It comes as an assembled module, as shown above, there are only four pins: 5-volts, GND, output, and EN. Output is an active LOW and has an onboard status LED. It’s very easy to interface directly with micro-controllers. It also works with the Raspberry Pi with a voltage range of 3-6 volts. Connect Vcc to 3-volts.
The enable pin “EN” will disable the device when HI (Vcc) and enable when LO (GND). The onboard jumper can be left open to allow external control of enable/disable of the module. Description : This MPR121 is a capacitive touch sensor controller driven by an I2C interface. The chip can control up to twelve individual electrodes, as well as a simulated thirteenth electrode The MPR121 also features eight LED driving pins, when these pins are not configured as electrodes, they may be used to drive LEDs. There are four jumpers on the bottom of the board, all of which are set (closed) by default. An address jumper ties the ADD pin to the ground, meaning the default I2C address of the chip will be 0x5A. If you need to change the address of the chip (by shorting ADD to a different pin), make sure you open the jumper first. Jumpers also connect SDA, SCL, and the interrupt pin to 10k pull-up resistors. If you do not require the pull-up resistors you can open the jumpers by cutting the trace connecting them.

This Hall Sensor Module used Hall Sensor - A3144E. The Hall Sensor measures the Hall Effect, which is a production of a voltage difference across an electrical conductor, transverse to an electric current in the conductor as well as a magnetic field perpendicular to the current. The output of the Hall sensor switches low and turns on when a magnetic field perpendicular to the Hall sensor exceeds the BOP threshold, and it switches high and turns on when the magnetic field disappears.
