360° Degree Rotary Encoder Brick Sensor Module ( Copy ) (360° Degree Rotary Encoder Brick Sensor)

360° Degree Rotary Encoder Module Brick Sensor is a rotary input device (as in knob) that provides an indication of how much the knob has been rotated AND what direction it is rotating in. It’s a great device for stepper and servo motor control.  You could also use it to control devices like digital potentiometers.

360° rotary Degree encoder, is an incremental electro-mechanical device that converts the angular position or motion of a shaft or axle to digital code. The output of incremental encoders provides information about the motion of the shaft, which is typically further processed in processor/controllers into information such as speed, distance, and position.

Note: This module does not come with a fitting nut or washer , you have to buy it separately (the size required is 6.6mm)
Package Includes :

Rotation Sensor (Rotation Sensor)

Knob in the form of an encoder with a button that allows you to create a simple user interface. The module sends a digital signal on the SIA and SIB pins, depending on the direction of rotation. It works with voltages from 3 V to 5.3 V.

The sensor has a 5 pin connector with digital outputs SIA, SIB and SW to be attached to the pin of the microcontroller, e.g. Arduino.

Operating principle:
Incremental encoder is a kind of rotation sensor for translating the rotary displacement into a sequential of digital pulse signal. The displacement can be gained by counting the number of the pluses outputted in the course of clockwise or anticlockwise rotation. Comparing with the potentiometer, the rotary counter has no limit for counting. So, there is a reset button provided to reset the counter to the initial state, restarting at 0

Features :
  • It detects the clockwise and counterclockwise rotation
  • The number of steps in 360°: 20 steps
  • Button in the knob
  • Module dimensions: 32 x 15 mm
Package Includes :
  • 1 x Rotation Sensor
  • 1 x 5-pin custom connector jumper wire

GY-271 QMC5883L 3-axis Electronic Compass Module Magnetic Field Sensor (GY-271 QMC5883L 3-axis Magnetic Field Sensor)

The GY-271 is supposed to have an HMC5883L, but some boards have a QMC5883L which has the same basic capability, but is not compatible with the H. The GY-271 QMC5883L 3-axis Electronic Compass Module Magnetic Field Sensor is designed for low field magnetic sensing with a digital interface and it is perfect to give precise heading information. If you get a GY-271 board and observe an I2C address of 0x0C and read back nothing but zeros from the board, then you probably have a QMC5883L chip!

This compact sensor fits into small projects such as UAVs and robot navigation systems. The sensor converts any magnetic field to a differential voltage output on 3 axes. This voltage shift is the raw digital output value, which can then be used to calculate headings or sense magnetic fields coming from different directions.

A development board that provides a simple interface for the HMC5883L (three-axis magnetic field module).

In our Multirotor category you will find different multirotor components, to check out more multirotor controllers click on the following category,

Multirotor Controller

HMC5883L and QMC5883L module don’t have too much difference. HMC5883L is made by Honeywell. but because the production is about to be stopped, so we use a similar compass module-QMC5883L instead. QMC5883L is made by a Chinese company, they get the production authorization of HMC5883L from Honeywell, and rename it QMC5883L. So QMC5883L and HMC5883L basically are the same, they shares the same hardware design. Just their register is a bit different. We only need to change the software a bit.

Features :
  • 3-axis magnetic electronic compass.
  • Precise heading information.
  • Fits into small projects easily.
  • I2C communication.

  • 1 x GY-271 QMC5883L 3-axis Electronic Compass Module

Magic Cup Tilt Switch Module (Magic Cup Tilt Switch Module)

Magic Light Cup Module is a board which has a led and a mercury tilt switch. Using PWM to drive the LEDs on the module you can achieve the effect of light being “magically” transferred from one module to the other when tilting them. In short, it’s 2 components combined, a mercury tilt switch and a led. On tilting the module mercury inside small tube connect the switching point and make switch ON while tilting it to other side move the mercury and it disconnects the circuit and switch get OFF. The module operates on 5V DC supply.

So the magic in the name of this module is because when you tilt the switch, the led will turn on and off. And Of course, it is also possible to connect it to the NodeMCU.

Pin Connection with Arduino :

  • G: GND
  • Positive: 5v DC
  • S: Arduino pin 8
  • L: Arduino pin 9

Pin Connection with Node MCU :

  • Connect G to a GND port of your NodeMCU
  • Connect to a 3.3v port of your NodeMCU
  • Connect S to a digital port on your NodeMCU (in my example port D3)
  • Connect L to a digital port on your NodeMCU (in my example port D5)

GY-273 QMC5883L 3 Axis Module Magnetic Field Sensor (GY-273 QMC5883L 3 Axis Module Magnetic Field Sensor)

The GY-273 module is based on the Honeywell QMC5883L IC for low-field magnetic sensing with a digital interface for applications such as low cost compassing and magnetometry. The QMC5883L includes state-of-threat, high-resolution QMC118X series magneto-resistive sensors plus an ASIC containing amplification; automatic degaussing strap drivers, offset cancellation, and a 12-bit ADC that enables 1° to 2° compass heading accuracy. The QMC5883L utilizes Honeywell’s Anisotropic Magnetoresistive (AMR)technology that provides advantages over other magnetic sensor technologies. These anisotropic, directional sensors feature precision in-axis sensitivity and linearity.

These sensors’ solid-state construction with very low cross-axis sensitivity is designed to measure both the direction and the magnitude of Earth’s magnetic fields, from milli-gauss to 8 gausses. Honeywell’s Magnetic Sensors are among the most sensitive and reliable low-field sensors in the industry.

Note: Sometimes markings on these boards vary slightly (e.g. Some may be labeled ‘HW-127’ instead of ‘GY-273’ even though they are otherwise identical).
