How Reverse Osmosis Flush Valves Work Flush Valves Are Used On Some But Not All Reverse Osmosis Units. If You Have A Standard Ro Unit, It Probably Doesn't Have One. The Purpose Of The Flush System Is To Help Prevent Scaling Or Fouling Of The Ro Membrane(S) By Providing A Rapid Rinse Which Washes Away Impurities And Keeps The Membrane Clean. Standard Ro Units Are Not Normally Fitted With Flush Valves, But These Can Be Easily Added. They Are Commonly Manually Controlled, But Sophisticated Electronic Flush Valves Can Be Used For Ro Units.
The Auto flush Noticeably Increases The Service Life Of The Membranes In Reverse Osmosis Systems And Optimizes The Control Between Production And Necessary Flushing Intervals. The Interval Flushing Ensures That Crystallization Does Not Result In Deposits On The Membrane Surface As Is Frequently The Case With Longer And More Traditional Production Phases.
As Soon As The Reverse Osmosis System Is Started, Auto flush Switches To Flushing Mode To Remove Old Water From The System. After Switching To Production Mode, The Flushing Valve Now Automatically Controls The Interval Flushing Cycles. The Hourly Interval Flushing Of 10 To 15 Seconds Increases The Cleaning Effect Of The Flushing Process And The Overall Water Consumption Is Clearly Lowered.
