The concept behind this Lie Detector Circuit is that we assume when a person lies he kind of pumps up his anxiety level which makes him sweat and develop moisture on his skin. We then use this piece of the circuit to detect if there is moisture on his skin and based on the result we glow an LED, a green one for truth and red for a lie. Of course yes this cannot be claimed as a lie detector, but you can use this to play with your friends and have fun.
In this circuit, the resistor R6 is assumed to be the resistance of the finger. When no finger has been placed the value of the resistor is infinity. To simulate that condition Lets take the value to be 99999K. The green LED has turned on when no finger is placed because the base voltage of Q1 and Q2 is around 3.2 voltage and hence the transistor is on making the Green LED glow. At the same time since the Transistor Q2 is turned on, the base voltage across the transistor Q3 drops to be around 1.4V which will keep the transistor Q3 off and hence the Red LED is turned off.
Now let’s assume we have placed our finger across the resistor R4 and hence the value of R6 falls to 50 ohms. This will affect the value of resistor R4 and hence the red LED glows. Now the voltage drop across resistor R4 is less and hence the base voltage of Transistor Q1 and Q2 is almost 0V as shown above. This will keep them turned off and thus the Green LED will not glow. But since the transistor Q2 is off the entire supply voltage gets divided between the resistor R1 and the base of Q3. This makes the base voltage of Q3 to be 3V which is enough to turn it on. You can fine-tune the base voltage a bit more by using the potentiometer also. If the transistor Q3 is turned on the Red LED will also glow.

We use DC Motors in many systems in our day to day life. For example, CPU fans, fume extinguishers, toy cars etc. are all DC Motors that are operated by DC power supply. Most of the time we will have to adjust the speed of the motors as per our requirement.
A CPU Fan, for example, must be operated at high speed when the CPU is performing heavy tasks like games or video editing. But for normal usage like editing documents, the speed of the fan can be reduced. Although some systems have an automatic adjustment system for fan speed, not all systems possess this functionality. So, we will have to adjust the speed of the DC Motor ourselves occasionally.
In this circuit, the DC motor is operated by a 555 integrated circuit. The IC 555 in this circuit is being operated in astable mode, which produces continuous HIGH and LOW pulses. In this mode, the 555 IC can be used as a pulse width modulator with a few small adjustments to the circuit. The frequency of operation of the circuit is provided by the passive parameters of resistances and capacitors attached to it.
Pinout:
- Pin 1 of 555 is connected to GND. Pins 8 and 4 are connected to V
Supply.
- Pins 6 and 2 are short and a 100nF Capacitor is connected between Pin
2 and GND. The wiper pin of the POT is connected to Pin 3 of 555. Two
Schottky diodes (1N5819) are connected to the other two pins of the
POT as shown in the circuit diagram. - The common point of the diodes is connected to Pin 2. Pin 7 is pulled
high with the help of a 10KΩ Resistor. The Gate terminal of the MOSFET
is connected to Pin 7 of 555. The motor is connected between 12V
Supply and Drain of MOSFET while the Source of MOSFET is connected
to GND.

This Continuity tester circuit will provide a cheap and efficient solution for debugging problems.
