Vibration/Tilt Sensor and Modules
The vibration sensor is also called a piezoelectric sensor. These sensors are flexible devices that are used for measuring various processes. This sensor uses the piezoelectric effects while measuring the changes within acceleration, pressure, temperature, force otherwise strain by changing to an electrical charge. The vibration analysis is used as a tool to determine equipment condition as well as the specific location and type of problems. The sensor output is an AC signal proportional to the vibration of the structure at the mounting point of the sensor. You will find the sensor at a very low price with good quality.

This 801S module changes its resistance level once vibration is detected. It can turn into a switch if the vibration is high. According to the datasheet, it is gold-plated and can withstand 60 million shocks. This module is connected in a voltage divider which can be measured through its digital pinout. It’s a high sensitivity 801S Vibration Sensor module, which has one digital output pin(D0), When it detects some vibration up to a certain threshold, it can output High or Low level.
Comparing with other vibration or shock sensor, this 801S type has the following listed features:
- This Vibration sensor is based on the Hi high precision vibration sensor 801S
- it has 1 digital output
- The sensitivity of TTL output can be adjusted by the on-board potentiometer, you can also read the digital output with any ADC to get the vibration condition.
The 801S shock and vibration sensor, by itself, changes its resistance when subjected to vibrations. The resistance changes are so extreme that the 801S is like a switch. The datasheet claims that this gold plated device can withstand 60 million shocks. As with most resistance-varying devices, the 801S is connected in a voltage divider circuit to get a voltage output.
Features :
- Micro-Shock detecting
- 60,000,000 times shock guarantee (special gold alloy plated)
- Has a signal output instruction
- Digital output signal
- The output valid signal is high, the light goes out
- The sensitivity is adjustable (fine-tuning)
- The wide detection range of vibration, no direction
- With mounting holes, firmware installation is flexible and convenient.

The tilt sensor module comes with the basic components for operation. Supplying power and it is good to be used. Attach it to object and it will detect whether the object is tilted. Simple usage as it is a digital output, so you will know the object is tilted or not by reading the output. It uses SW-460D or SW-520D tilt sensor. The tilt sensor is a ball rolling type.
It comes with an M3 mounting hole for ease of attaching it to any object. It provides a tilt switch, high sensitivity and commonly being used for tilt detection. The module comes with a power LED and a status LED for a visual indicator.
The module will output logic LOW when the module is not tilted until the threshold angle; it will output logic HIGH when it is tilted over the threshold angle. We have tested, the tilt angle is quite big, from 45 degrees to 130 degrees. However, it depends on the angular velocity too. It can be used as a vibration sensor too.
The output can be directly connected with the MCU, through the microcontroller to detect level, thereby detecting the environment change of angle. It can be interfaced with any microcontroller with digital input such as PIC, Arduino series for tilt detection capability.
Features:
- Operating voltage 3.3V-12V
- The output in the form: Digital switching outputs (0 and 1)
- A fixed bolt hole for easy installation
- Small board PCB size: 3.2cm x 1.7cm
- Wide voltage LM393 comparator
- Maximum output current: 15mA
- Can work on low voltages
- Maximum operating temperature: 0°C to 80°C
- Easy interface
- Long life.
Package Includes:
1 x 2 Channel Tilt Sensor Module
This tilt sensor module is used for inclination indication. It is based on a mercury switch that contains a blob of mercury. When the body moves to a specific angle (usually around 30°), it shorts two pins and thus closes the circuit and tilt is detected and the signal output is high.
The simplicity of this sensor makes them popular for toys, motion detection alarms, gadgets and appliances.
Application:
- Shake detection
- Guard alarm
- Smart car
- Electric bricks
Features:
- Detects shake signal
- Signal output indicator
Package Includes:
1 x Tilt Sensor
1 x 3-pin custom connector jumper wire

After finding Different types of sensors on market, we at robu.in have determined that DFrobot is one of the good brands that offer a wide range of sensors at an Appropriate price.
Do you want to switch lights by just shaking your hand? However, you may don’t want to use a complicated and costly triple-axis accelerometer. This digital shake sensor is sure to meet your needs.
The digital shake sensor is to detect handshaking which is only sensitive to unidirectional hand movements. The spring-type vibration switch is used to output a low-level pulse when the user shakes once in the specified direction and the onboard indicator flashes at the same time. Thanks to the unidirectional sensitivity of the vibration switch and the corresponding filter circuit, it has a strong anti-shock interference capability to prevent false triggering. Simple and easy, switch controls are all in just a single shake.
They are used for measuring fluctuating accelerations or speeds or for normal vibration measurement. Maintenance professionals use the sensors in order to predict the maintenance of the machinery, to reduce overall costs and increase the performance of the machinery, The vibration levels can be supplied to any controllers/processors/ and necessary decisions can be obtained as required though it, This module has triple output mode i.e. – digital output – is simple, analog output which is more accurate and serial output with exact readings. The generally 3 types of vibration sensors are there 1) displacement sensors, 2) velocity sensors, 3) accelerometers. Accelerometers are the best choice for most industrial rotating assets because they are simple, easy to apply, and very sensitive to the high-frequency vibrations typically generated during force-failure.
